We are looking for a part-time hours Receptionist to join our friendly Reception Services team at the University of Oxford, delivering a high-quality reception and administrative service across our world-class buildings.

The role will be mainly based at the amazing Schwarzman Centre and will be focused on supporting the public and events from a reception perspective.

About the Role

Our receptionists represent the University at some of Oxford’s most prominent buildings, providing a warm, professional, and efficient front-of-house service to staff, students, and visitors.

You will be welcoming guests, coordinating room bookings, issuing access cards, managing mail and deliveries, or assisting with small administrative tasks. You will also contribute to maintaining a safe and secure environment and may be required to train as a first aider or fire marshal.

Please note that this role is fully on‑site, with no remote working options.

About You

  • A good understanding of standard administrative procedures
  • The person appointed must enjoy working with people and have a competent, professional manner in dealing with customers
  • Ability to use standard computer programs (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • To demonstrate good communication skills
  • To possess inter-personal skills needed to relate to a wide range of people, particularly when responding to requests and enquiries.
  • Adaptable and willing to learn
