Mary Immaculate College is an autonomous, university-level, Catholic College of Education and the Liberal Arts. Founded in 1898, and linked academically with the University of Limerick, MIC is the oldest higher education institution in Limerick. Significant expansion in recent decades has seen the College’s offerings expand across two modern campuses, one based in Limerick City and one in Thurles, Co. Tipperary. The student community consists of more than 5,000 learners, participating in fifteen undergraduate degree programmes and several postgraduate programmes extending to PhD/Doctoral level. Academic staff engage in a wide range of academic research areas, and research underpins all teaching and learning at MIC.

Mary Immaculate College wishes to appoint a Full Time, Fixed Term basis.
Mary Immaculate College (MIC) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the role of Vice-President (Research and Enterprise). The Vice-President is a senior executive-level academic with institution-wide responsibility for research strategy, doctoral education, research governance and integrity, research funding performance, and the executive alignment of enterprise and community engagement with the College’s research mission and strategic priorities. The Vice-President provides executive leadership for MIC’s research and doctoral ecosystem, leading the design, embedding, and assurance of the institutional systems, governance, supports, and partnerships that enable high-quality, ethically robust, externally credible, and socially meaningful research across all academic disciplines. In close partnership with the Director of Research, the Graduate School Director, Director of Enterprise and Community Engagement and, the Director of Research Governance & Integrity (to be appointed), the Vice-President provides executive leadership, direction, and accountability, ensuring coherence across strategy, funding, governance, doctoral education, and external engagement. The appointment will be made on a full-time, fixed-term basis of 5-years (with opportunity for a further appointment of 5 years subject to satisfactory performance)
