This is an exciting opportunity for a registered healthcare professional to join the Department of Allied Health Professions, Sport, and Exercise. We are seeking to appoint an innovative Skills Educator to work across disciplines within the Department to support skills education and lead mandatory training delivery. This is a new post, reflecting growth in student numbers and our commitment to ensuring that our students are effectively prepared for practice.
The University of Huddersfield has excellent facilities, which continue to expand with state-of-the-art teaching, research, and clinical facilities in the National Health Innovation Campus. We have a diverse student body and professional partnerships across health and social care.
Huddersfield is a lively town, close to beautiful countryside and with excellent road and rail links to Manchester, Leeds, and Sheffield. In 2023, the University achieved a TEF Gold award and its apprenticeship provision was graded as “Outstanding” by Ofsted.
This role is open to registered healthcare professionals who are passionate about educating the future workforce to meet the challenges of service users and service needs. Within this role, you will contribute to the development and delivery of skills-based teaching, learning, and assessment for students across a range of courses within the Department.
You will be currently registered with a relevant UK health care regulator. You will also be a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy or be required to work towards this within 12 months of the appointment.
You will bring experience of training and/or teaching healthcare learners within a clinical or higher education setting, and will be willing and motivated to work across professions to support the effective and efficient delivery of skills education and mandatory training.
This post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. Regular status checks may also be required, depending on your role.
