We have an exciting opportunity in the School of Chemical, Materials & Biological Engineering for someone with a passion for advanced metals processing research looking to use their skills in metallurgy to make an impact on new processes and alloys in industry, including regional companies.
You will work in a well-connected team with world-leading reputations in the Sheffield Titanium Alloy Research group. We are well known internationally for our research and are one of the largest research groups for advanced metals processing, particularly titanium alloy processing in the World.
You will use your metallurgical skillset to provide essential support to the Sheffield Titanium Alloy Research group helping to ensure the reputation of the University by carrying out pioneering advanced metals processing research into alloy development and new disruptive processing routes.
Educated to PhD level, you will have strong metallurgical experience and first-hand experience in alloy development, thermomechanical processing and associated characterising and testing experience. As you will be responsible for translating new alloys and processes into industry, experience in an industrial metals processing and quality assurance would be an advantage.
