The Department of Politics & International Relations (DPIR) is seeking a capable, confident, well-organised HR Officer. This is an exciting and interesting opportunity to work closely with the HR Manager and HR Officer and the DPIR Professional Services team, as well as other Divisional and University teams to provide a professional and efficient HR service to all DPIR staff.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy teaching and research department. The HR Officer will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the HR function, supporting the HR team in areas such as recruitment, induction, contractual documentation, administration of HR data (using the University’s PeopleXD HR system) and being a reliable point of contact for all HR enquiries. You will a have the opportunity to be involved with HR initiatives and project work.
You should hold or be working towards a CIPD Level 3 qualification and have relevant HR experience and a desire and willingness to develop your existing knowledge within an academic environment. You will have outstanding organizational and communication skills and will demonstrate the ability to deal with confidential matters with tact and sensitivity. You should work with a focus on high-quality customer service, have excellent attention to detail and an ability to work effectively both autonomously and collaboratively as part of a wider team. You should possess strong IT skills, especially in Excel. This role offers the opportunity to thrive in a supported environment.
