Professor Sarah J Tabrizi FRS is Joint Head of the Department of Neurodegenerative Disease and Director of the UCL Huntington’s Disease Centre at the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology. She leads an internationally recognised Huntington’s disease (HD) research programme and a team of approximately 30 staff including postdoctoral research fellows, research assistants, clinical research staff, PhD students, and administrators. She also leads the multidisciplinary HD clinic at the UCLH National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.
You will provide a full range of high‑level, dedicated Executive Assistant support to Professor Tabrizi. This includes managing a complex diary and travel arrangements, and providing comprehensive administrative, organisational and planning support. A key aspect of the role involves liaison with staff across the Department of Neurodegenerative Disease and the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology Central Administration teams, including HR and Finance. You will also support Huntington’s Disease Centre meetings, including preparing agendas, coordinating attendees, booking rooms and refreshments, taking minutes, and undertaking occasional project work.
The post is to undertake specific maternity cover, the duration of which is dependent upon completion of the cover, return of the post holder, or cessation of the funding, whichever is the soonest. The cover is funded by research and discretionary funds, and is available from 06 July 2026 until 30 June 2027, or until the return of the substantive post holder, whichever is earliest.
This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 40% of time on site.

You’ll have substantial administrative experience as a senior PA or Executive Assistant supporting a senior academic, clinician, or executive, coupled with proven experience of managing complex diaries, competing priorities, and complex UK and international travel itineraries. Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism and the ability to act on your own initiative and problem-solve.
