About the role 

• We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated British Sign Language (BSL) Teaching Fellow to join the Language Centre on a part-time basis (0.5 FTE). The successful candidate will deliver engaging and academically rigorous BSL teaching across a range of programmes, including non-assessed short courses, assessed modules, KCL Edge extracurricular provision, and Doctoral Training Programme courses.
• The role involves teaching adult learners from diverse academic backgrounds, developing teaching materials, setting and marking assessments where required, and contributing to the ongoing development of BSL provision at King’s. You will play an important role in promoting inclusive communication and raising awareness of Deaf culture and Deaf perspectives within the university community.
• We particularly welcome candidates with knowledge of Deaf Studies and the social, cultural, and linguistic dimensions of Deaf communities. The ideal post holder will be expected to integrate this knowledge into teaching and curriculum development, supporting a culturally informed and critically engaged approach to BSL learning in higher education.

This is a part-time post (0.5fte), and you will be offered an indefinite contract
