The midwifery teaching team participate in teaching, assessing and supporting pre and post registration midwifery students and those from health and social care programmes across the School. Our team is committed to high quality teaching, effective practice learning, meaningful student engagement, and impactful research. Together, we design, deliver and lead modules that extend the reach and influence of global public health.

Integral to our work is a strong commitment to enhancing the student experience through creative, inclusive and evidence-based approaches to teaching, learning, assessment and research. You will bring a high level of insight into contemporary midwifery practice, alongside experience of practice based education, enabling you to support students effectively across academic and practice settings.
You will have a sound knowledge of current policy, professional standards, and the theories and concepts that underpin midwifery practice and education. Registration as a midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) is essential. You will have achieved, be working towards, or be willing to undertake a Master's degree in a health or education related discipline, and you will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to continuing professional development relevant to your role. You will also hold, or be willing to work towards, a recognised postgraduate qualification in higher education.
Enthusiasm for teaching and the ability to inspire and engage learners are central to this role. You will adopt a flexible and adaptable approach to teaching and demonstrate a clear commitment to enhancing the student experience across our programmes. A commitment to maintaining academic credibility and currency is expected. The role carries a strong focus on teaching excellence. You'll spend most of your time on campus, typically 3 days per week, with the opportunity to work from home on the remaining days.

This is a fixed term post for 12 months, working part-time on a 0.8FTE contract.
