Job Description

The University of Notre Dame (USA) in England (UNDE) seeks a Summer Residential Assistant (SRA) to support the London Team in enhancing the quality of life for students in the Conway Hall Residence by fostering community, providing support, and being attentive to the safety and security of residents during the London Summer Programme.

Student Development, Resource and Education

The SRA will, in collaboration with the local Rector and Assistant Rectors, assist in the development of community life. The SRA must also be prepared to refer students with illness or needing mental health care.

Cultural Programming

In collaboration with the local Rector and Assistant Rectors, the SRA will lead a variety of cultural programming aimed at helping students immerse themselves in life and culture in the United Kingdom.

Policy Enforcement/Safety

The SRA will be attentive to resident safety and hall security. The SRA will ensure that students follow University and housing policies. The SRA will be responsible for enforcing policies and community standards within the Conway Hall Community.

Emergency Response

The SRA will be a primary responder to emergencies within Conway Hall. While the SPC will have designated duty and on-call times, he/she is expected to assist with student emergencies as they arise. The SRA agrees to be certified in First Aid. UNDE will cover any expenses associated with the cost of this training.

Hours of Work

Programme Dates: 18 May - 29 June 2025. There may be an extension to 13 July if mutually agreed.

The SRA will work an average of 15 hours per week. This will include 3 evenings of duty per week (from 7 PM-12 AM) followed by 3 evenings of on-call hours from (12 AM-9 AM). During on-call hours the SRA must be reachable by phone at all times.

The SRA is required to live in on-site accommodation provided for these purposes by the University of Notre Dame (USA) in England (UNDE).

The SRA may be called on to accompany students on weekend day trips or academic field trips. Important:

Compensation:

  • £14.80 per hour (London Living Wage)
