Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced individual to join the Occupational Therapy Team at Robert Gordon University. You will join our progressive, creative team of Occupational Therapists in the delivery and ongoing development of our integrated Master of Occupational Therapy course, the first to be validated in the UK.

Our multi professional School of Health is situated in a modern, purpose-built building with state-of-the-art teaching facilities which support the authentic, practical and applied ethos of our course delivery.

Within this role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Contribute to the development, preparation and delivery of teaching and assessment material whilst informing the development of the wider curriculum across the occupational therapy portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
  • Contribute to teaching and assessment on related courses both within the School of Health and the wider University.
  • Develop close links with a wide range of practice-based learning settings providing support to both practice educators and students to ensure the course demands continue to be reflective and responsive to current and future service provision.
  • Develop and sustain community engagement and simulated practice-based learning experiences.
  • Be supported to identify and actively engage in scholarship, research and knowledge exchange with service partners and agencies. Development of a personal research profile and contribution to the research base of the School of Health is an expectation of all academic staff.

Expectations of the candidate:

  • A degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy and ideally have or be working towards an appropriate postgraduate qualification.
  • Innovative with excellent interpersonal skills, reflecting an interprofessional approach to academic and professional development.
  • Recent relevant practice experience, and of particular relevance in the areas of mental health or community practice.
  • Evidence of ongoing continued professional development
  • Teaching experience, student support and robust IT skills would be beneficial.
