About the Role
We are recruiting for a Residential Life Officer to join the Residential Life team, who, as part of the Residential Support Department, support over 3,000 students living in Queen Mary halls, across three campuses, and in halls in Stratford and Stepney Green. The post holder will lead on the organisation and supervision of a range of inclusive events and initiatives designed to enhance the student experience, promote wellbeing and foster a spirit of community within halls.
The post holder will contribute to the development of an annual events calendar and regularly review it to ensure sustainable levels of student engagement and a balance of quality and value for money are achieved. The post holder will also create content for the Residential Life website and social media.
About You
You will have a strong commitment to promoting positive wellbeing in students and a passion for enhancing their experience in halls and their sense of belonging at Queen Mary. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be confident interacting with students in large and small groups, and motivating staff. You must have a creative, solution-focused approach and be available to work flexibly.
The post is full time (35 hours per week) and permanent. The core hours of work are Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm, however, the post holder will regularly be required to work flexibly outside of these hours to oversee the delivery of activities, events and initiatives.
