You will be expected to deliver undergraduate lectures in areas including the following: epistemology, aesthetics, and introductory logic.
The School of Humanities and Heritage has a dynamic and collaborative research culture. As part of the College of Arts, Social Sciences and the Humanities, the school offers well-established programmes in English, History and Conservation as well as programmes in Modern History, Philosophy, and Classical. We take teaching, research, and student experience very seriously. In the last REF 65 per cent of our research publications were rated world-leading (four star) – placing us first in the UK for the ratio of four-star outputs out of 80 institutions submitting in this Unit of Assessment. Philosophy is ranked fourth in the U.K. for student satisfaction in the National Student Survey 2022 and fifth in the U.K. in the Guardian University Guide 2023 and 2024.
In 2020, the University of Lincoln was named Modern University of the Year in The Times and Sunday Times, Good University Guide 2021, as the highest-ranked multi-faculty modern university in the UK, climbing to 45th (out of 135). In the same year it was named one of the world's greatest young universities in the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings. The University has been awarded gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework for its consistently outstanding teaching, learning and outcomes for its students.
Please provide examples of your experience in teaching on a range of modules, your approach to teaching, and ability to fill pastoral roles.
