As the Financial Accountant at Wrexham University, you will play a critical role in the preparation and reporting of the University group’s financial results, ensuring accuracy and integrity in the figures for multiple stakeholders.
Reporting to the Deputy Director of Finance, this role supports the delivery of the Finance Strategy through the process of annual statutory reporting, asset management, cashflow planning and regular statistical reporting within tight timeframes.
The University is embarking on an exciting five year plan to grow its operations by investing in both physical and digital assets. Managing the financial aspects of these projects will be part of the role.
We are looking for a qualified or part qualified accountant (CCAB) with strong technical focus and proven ability to build productive relationships at all levels across the university.
The role involves providing technical advice, guidance and support on all financial accounting matters both within and outside the Finance Department as well as liaising with external bodies on financial performance matters.
The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of financial accounting processes and procedures with the ability to consider the wider impact of financial reporting decisions across a range of stakeholders.
This is an ideal opportunity for an established Higher/Further Education sector practitioner or first-time mover from practice or industry. Public sector experience is desirable, but if you have well-developed technical, interpersonal and team working skills that can actively contribute to the University’s priorities, this could be the role for you.
