Salary: £35,681 to £41,636 with a discretionary range to £45,212 per annum. (pro rata): Standard Grade 6. This is inclusive of a pensionable Oxford University Weighting of £1,730 per year (pro rata).

We are seeking a highly organised and self-motivated Senior Grants Officer to support the financial and operational management of a diverse research portfolio within a leading Oxford medical department. Working closely with academics, university services, and external partners, you will play a key role in delivering efficient, high-quality research administration. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career while managing complex projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You will be responsible managing the full lifecycle of research grants, from application and costing through to post-award financial oversight, ensuring compliance with funder and University requirements. The role involves close collaboration with academics, Professional Services, and external partners to monitor budgets, support audits, and provide expert advice on grant management. You will also contribute to team development, reporting, and continuous improvement of systems and processes within a dynamic research environment.

To be successful in this role, you will be degree-educated (or have equivalent experience) with a strong understanding of grant or contract management, ideally within higher education. You will bring proven financial administration skills, excellent attention to detail, and confidence in analysing financial data, alongside strong IT capabilities and experience with costing tools. A proactive, organised approach, combined with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, is essential.
