LSE Consulting belongs to the commercial arm of the London School of Economics and Political Science. LSE Consulting, which sits under the Research and Innovation Division of LSE, provides exceptional support to consulting project activity and ensures the quality of competitive proposals against project specifications, working closely with academics, departments, and research centres across the School.

The Development Manager will play a central role in building and growing LSE Consulting’s Academic Speakers Bureau (ASB). This is an opportunity for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset to take the lead in developing a new initiative, with real scope to influence its direction, expand its reach, and help establish ASB as a leading global platform for academic speakers. The role offers a high degree of variety and ownership, combining business development, relationship management and delivery. You will take the lead on identifying and onboarding new academic speakers, working closely with them to ensure they are well supported and effectively positioned for speaking opportunities. At the same time, you will manage enquiries from external clients and partners, building a clear understanding of their needs and matching with the most appropriate speakers to deliver high-quality engagements.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, commercially aware, and motivated by building something and seeing it grow. You will bring relevant experience in business development within consulting, training, government, academia, or international organisations. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, alongside the ability to build relationships, understand client needs, and coordinate high-quality speaking engagements. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience in marketing and communications, including social media, are also required.

We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave, hybrid working, and excellent training and development opportunities.
