The Centre for Geopolitics invites applications for a Finance and Events Administrator to join our busy and enthusiastic team. This is a full-time, predominantly office-based role offering a high degree of variety and responsibility. This role will be fixed term until 31 December 2026 in the first instance.
The post has three main strands. First, the postholder will support the Centre Coordinator with the financial management of the Centre for Geopolitics. Secondly, they will work closely with the Events and Communications Coordinator to help plan and deliver the Centre's very active programme of events. Thirdly, they will provide a wide range of general administrative and office support to our small but rapidly growing Centre.
This is a role that requires the ability to juggle multiple priorities; for the right candidate, it will be a rewarding and richly varied position, with no two days the same.
The successful candidate will be able to work independently, show initiative, demonstrate excellent attention to detail, and remain calm under pressure. In return, the role offers an engaging mix of responsibilities, combining financial and administrative support with hands-on involvement in events and day-to-day Centre life.
Financial responsibilities will include monitoring expenditure against budgets, processing expense claims, invoices and orders in line with financial regulations, raising Purchase Orders, and liaising with central finance teams.
Events responsibilities will include booking venues and accommodation, liaising with speakers and visitors, supporting event promotion, and assisting with events on the day or evening.
General administrative duties will range from taking minutes and maintaining records to ordering supplies and welcoming visitors.
