About the Role
The Department of Geography at QMUL has been awarded a major UKRI-funded £3m multi-disciplinary project entitled “Resilience of Anthropocene Coasts and Communities (RACC): assessing and responding to urban and post-industrial coastal risks”. The Public Engagement and Impact Officer will play a key role in: supporting public engagement activities to help maximise potential impact; collecting evidence and evaluating the impact of activities; developing education materials; supporting the development of a stakeholder network; and supporting communications activities.

About You
The post holder will require a relevant post graduate degree, strong written and verbal skills, and experience in relevant areas such as geographical contexts relevant to the project; creating compelling and impactful communications materials; organizing and delivering innovative public engagement activities; and experience of evidence and evaluating impact arising from academic research and public engagement.

About the School/Department/Institute/Project
The project is part of a larger research programme and will investigate the interlinked risks of climate change, coastal flooding and erosion, and the UK’s historic waste legacy to develop coastal community and ecosystem resilience. We already have an exciting portfolio of arts-based activities and public engagement events planned, as well as the potential to develop new resources for future engagement with wide-ranging publics and policymakers.
