We are seeking an exceptional academic leader in public health to lead and shape our Master of Public Health (MPH) programme at a pivotal moment of growth and transformation. As we implement our refreshed Education Strategy, this role offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of global public health education within a world-leading institution.
You must bring a strong track record in programme leadership, a passion for inclusive and innovative teaching, and the vision to ensure our MPH remains distinctive and competitive in an increasingly global marketplace. Experience in online and transnational education, alongside engagement in low- and middle-income country contexts, will be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and academic leadership for the MPH programme, ensuring alignment with LSTM’s Education Strategy
- Lead curriculum development, innovation in pedagogy, and enhancement of the student experience
- Ensure programmes meet quality assurance and regulatory standards
- Lead and support a multidisciplinary teaching team to deliver an outstanding, research-informed learning experience
- Contribute to postgraduate teaching, dissertation and doctoral supervision, and student support
- Strengthen partnerships with international collaborators, particularly in low- and middle-income countries
- Contribute to research, knowledge exchange, consultancy, and community engagement
- Support student employability initiatives and professional development opportunities
- Contribute to recruitment, admissions, and marketing activities
- Mentor and support the development of junior academic staff
- Represent LSTM at academic and professional events
- Participate in institutional committees and contribute to strategic planning
- Promote and uphold safeguarding practices for students, staff, and communities
Qualifications & Experience
- PhD in a relevant discipline
- A strong understanding of contemporary public health challenges, with experience of this in low- and middle-income settings being an advantage
- A proven track record of leading, designing and delivering high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment with inclusivity at the core
- Experience leading the development of Master’s level academic programmes: leading a programme team, developing public health content within a higher education context
- Experience in delivering research methods teaching or training
- Ability to lead and deliver quantitative research methods modules
- Quality assurance of higher education programmes
- Supervision of student research projects at PG level
- Experience in quality assurance within higher education
- Ability to lead complex projects and deliver measurable outcomes
