- THE ROLE -
 
The post holder will conduct research using linked administrative data within the Administrative Data Research Centre of Northern Ireland (ADRC-NI). This is one of four national partnerships (also including ADR England, ADR Scotland, and ADR Wales), and the Office for National Statistics (ONS), which ensures data provided by UK Government bodies is accessed by researchers in a safe and secure way with minimal risk to data holders or the public. The partnership is coordinated by a UK-wide Strategic Hub, which also promotes the benefits of administrative data research to the public and the wider research community. ADRC-NI has input from Queen’s University, Ulster University and the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA).

The post holder will help in the development and submission of ADRC study applications and will be involved in the analysis of large, linked administrative datasets. They will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research papers for publication, and contribute to the broad communications, engagement, and impact activities of the centre.

 - ABOUT YOU -

The postholder will be required to have:

- A primary degree in a subject with a significant quantitative component, e.g. in a public health, education, social and behavioural sciences, or statistics-related subject.
- Hold a PhD (or near completion with thesis submitted) in a relevant area, e.g. epidemiology, applied statistics, public health, education, social and behavioural sciences, economics or a quantitative social science.
- Experience in the analysis of large databases with policy relevance.
