Applications are invited for a Researcher of Digital Health, to work within our Applied Digital Health team, with Professor John Powell and Dr Abi Eccles to conduct research examining AI Scribe use in General Practice settings.
The successful applicants will explore how AI Scribes are being used in primary care settings and how this technology shapes quality of care in varied and complex ways. Responsibilities will include qualitative data collection, including observations in general practices (with some associated reimbursed travel and accommodation within the UK) and interviews with research participants. Responsibilities also include both quantitative and qualitative analysis, as well as contributing to a literature review, survey design and supporting the organisation of working groups with members of the public, general practitioners and other stakeholders. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to some of the other digital health projects and teaching in the group.
You will have experience of qualitative and quantitative research, ideally in relation to digital health or a connected area of applied health services research, with excellent communication, presentation and writing skills. You will hold a DPhil or PhD (or near completion/equivalent experience) in an area such as health services research, epidemiology, health psychology, or other social science discipline or a related subject relevant to applied digital health.
You will be based in the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG as your normal place of work but you will be able to agree a pattern of regular remote working with your line manager.
The position is funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research, until 31st May 2028 in the first instance.
For further information or discuss the post please contact Dr Abi Eccles, abi.eccles@phc.ox.ac.uk.
