This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic, collaborative team delivering a high-quality equine referral service. The successful candidate will contribute to a busy and varied caseload, working at the forefront of equine surgery while supporting veterinary surgeons across Scotland and northern England.

About the role

As a member of our expert equine surgery team, you will deliver high‑quality specialist clinical services within the RCVS‑accredited Glasgow Equine Veterinary Hospital, while contributing to research‑led education and the development of our expanding equine academic programmes.

For candidates with particular expertise or enthusiasm, there is scope to develop and expand specialist clinical services, including areas such as equine dentistry and head and neck surgery.

  • Supervise and mentor clinical scholars, interns, and residents
  • Participate in the out‑of‑hours surgical rota, ensuring continuity of expert emergency care
  • Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, assessment, and curriculum development
  • Engage in research or scholarship, contributing to publications and presentations at national and international meetings
  • Support the wider academic, administrative, and strategic priorities of the School and University
