About us:

The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) is a Faculty of King's College London and the largest academic community in Europe devoted to the study and prevention of mental illness and brain disease.

The School of Mental Health & Psychological Sciences (MHaPS) is one of three schools under the IoPPN, comprised of the four departments of Psychology, Social, Genetic & Developmental Psychiatry (SGDP), Health Service & Population Research (HSPR), and Biostatistics & Health Informatics (BHI). Our internationally renowned research encompasses developmental science across the lifespan and integrates basic research with the design, evaluation, and implementation of evidence‑based treatments, services, and policy.

This Lectureship is an exciting opportunity for an academic clinical psychologist with strong research and clinical experience to join the Department of Psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London (IoPPN-KCL).

About the role:

This Lecturer in Clinical Psychology post will be part of the DClinPsy programme team, and the ideal candidate will bring strong clinical expertise, a commitment to high‑quality teaching, and an active interest in neuropsychology. Applicants with experience in cognitive assessment, brain–behaviour relationships, or neuropsychological rehabilitation are especially encouraged to apply. An alternative area of interest we are seeking is experience and knowledge of digital interventions and/or AI in mental health.

As part of the DClinPsy programme team a key component of this involves supporting or leading the team on some aspects of quality assurance processes, such as with the British Psychological Society (BPS), Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and KCL internal quality assurance processes. You will undertake supervision of DClinPsy research dissertations and also contribute to the broader work of programme delivery including selection, teaching and assessment.

It is expected that you will hold an honorary contract with one of the King’s Health Partner NHS Trusts (e.g. South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust) and undertake clinical or clinical-related activities for at least 0.2 WTE part of your time in your area of expertise (to be negotiated).  These activities will need to be negotiated to ensure that they meet a service need and are appropriate for the appointee’s clinical and research interests/expertise and other duties.
