About ARU:
ARU is a global university transforming lives through innovative, inclusive and entrepreneurial education and research. ARU holds a Gold award for the quality of its education, awarded through the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).
ARU’s research institutes and four faculties bridge scientific, technical and creative fields. We deliver impactful research which tackles pressing issues and makes a real difference to our communities. Our academic excellence has been recognised by the UK’s Higher Education funding bodies, with 16 of our research areas assessed as world leading. We are the largest provider of Nursing, Midwifery, Health and Social Care students in the East of England, and we are also among the UK’s leading universities for degree apprenticeship provision, working with hundreds of employers across the UK.
About the Role
We seek to recruit a Graduation & Certification Officer to the Assessment Service within the Academic Registry for a fixed term period of one year to cover a period of maternity leave. The Service provides a challenging environment for self-motivated individuals seeking to further develop their professional careers. You will be responsible for the planning, management and co-ordination of the student side of ARU’s graduation ceremonies, the management of our conferment records and the secure provision of certification to our graduates. You will also work with other Services within the Academic Registry and across ARU, affording you the opportunity to diversify your skills and HE knowledge base.
You will have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as effective communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a pressurised environment and demonstrate attention to detail.
Like much of ARU, the Academic Registry works on an agile basis – a mixture of office and home-based working and we can accommodate a variety of preferences in this regard.
This role is fixed term, maternity cover for one year.
Interviews are scheduled to take place 5 June 2026.
Informal enquiries can be made to either Lorraine Adams, Assessment Manager, at lorraine.adams@aru.ac.uk or Caroline Watts, Deputy Academic Registrar, at caroline.watts@aru.ac.uk.

We value diversity at ARU and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
Committed to being inclusive and open to discuss flexible working.
We reserve the right to close this vacancy once we have received sufficient applications.
