Description of Post
This Assistant Lecturer will play a central role in the delivery and ongoing development of Fire Safety Engineering programmes from Level 7 to Level 9 in part-time and full-time formats within the School of the Built Environment. In particular, the Assistant Lecturer should have industrial/applied experience in Fire Safety Engineering to bring to the programmes, enabling teaching and supervision to be industry focussed and research informed. The Assistant Lecturer should have an appetite to continue to support industry links and engage in research.
The Lecturer may also be required to teach general construction and engineering topics to students on the Department's Level 7 and Level 8 programmes in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Contract Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Engineering and Architectural Technology.
Pedagogic staff development is encouraged, and cognate qualification progression is also supported.
From this process it is endeavoured to shortlist appointable candidates to a panel for part-time, temporary etc. hours should they arise through HPAL format.
