Part-time (0.4 FTE), fixed-term for 12 months
This is an opportunity to work closely with our Associate Professor of Egyptology, Dr Liz Frood, in a role that combines practical and personal support whilst drawing on specialist academic knowledge.
The postholder will provide informed clerical, secretarial and practical support for Dr Frood’s use of libraries, museums and archives; as well as for her participation in meetings, events and teaching activities. They will also contribute to project planning for teaching and research, contribute to the design of academic materials, and adapt and deploy specialist research methodologies for Dr Frood’s research publications.
You will be able to demonstrate substantial experience of postgraduate research in Egyptology or other ancient languages and/or material culture; experience of working on confidential matters with tact and discretion; the ability to manage workloads collaboratively and flexibly; and good organisational and interpersonal skills. You will have the ability to take accurate notes and experience and confidence in the use of standard IT packages.
This position is a part-time position, and working patterns will be negotiated with Dr Frood and the other part-time support worker. Due to the nature of the role providing personal support, there is a general requirement for on-site working in central Oxford.
