Lecturer (International Business)

Manchester Metropolitan University – Department of Marketing, International Business and Tourism

Do you have experience of international business practice and a passion for teaching and developing globally minded graduates?

Are you interested in applying your industry expertise within a student‑focused, people‑led and inclusive university?

If so, this opportunity could be for you.

With more than 11,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students, the Faculty of Business and Law at Manchester Metropolitan University is a popular choice for students from the UK and internationally. The Faculty comprises a triple‑accredited Business School—holding EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA accreditation—and the renowned Manchester Law School. Together, they deliver professionally informed education supported by strong employer engagement and impactful research.

The Department of Marketing, International Business and Tourism is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in International Business on the Education, Practice and Citizenship (EPC) pathway. This role is particularly suited to candidates with industry experience in international and multinational business contexts, who are able to translate professional practice into high‑quality teaching and curriculum delivery.

We are especially interested in applicants with expertise in areas such as:

  • sustainability,
  • foreign direct investment and trade blocs,
  • multicultural and cross‑cultural business management, and
  • multinational enterprise strategy.

Priority will be given to candidates who have teaching experience in the area of International Marketing in addition to the previous areas. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate International Business provision, supporting modules through lectures, seminars, assessment and student guidance. Experience of applying real‑world international business cases, policy contexts or strategic decision‑making to teaching is highly valued.

You will work collaboratively within an established subject team, contribute to curriculum enhancement and quality processes, and support students through teaching and personal tutoring. Applicants may hold a PhD or demonstrate equivalent professional experience; all appointed staff will be supported to achieve Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.

To apply, please submit a CV and a covering letter of up to 2 pages, highlighting experience, achievements, and relevant skills via our application portal (available on our website, accessed by the 'Apply' button).

For informal enquiries, please contact Professor Riccardo De Vita, Head of the Department of Marketing, International Business and Tourism (r.de.vita@mmu.ac.uk), or Dr Costas Theodoridis, Deputy Head of Department (c.theodoridis@mmu.ac.uk).
