Research Assistant (part time, 0.5 FTE)

This project aims to evaluate a structured 12-week education and support program to Improve post-discharge transition for people newly diagnosed with heart failure.

The role requires a post-doctoral research assistant to work with Dr Tracey McConnell and Professor Joanne Reid at Queen’s University Belfast Northern Ireland. The role requires the successful candidate to lead on the evaluation with support from other members of the team; producing the research outputs and wider dissemination (e.g. presentations, report and journal article). This is an excellent opportunity for an early career post-doctoral health services researcher or social scientist with mixed methods, co-design and PPI experience, and a knowledge of palliative care and/or heart failure, to work within an experienced team.

About The Person

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria:

• Degree or equivalent in subject relevant to research activity
• Specific, relevant experience of applying specialist skills and techniques, including: Service evaluation, Co-design,PPI work
• Sufficient breadth or depth of specialist knowledge in palliative care and/or heart failure.

This part time post is available until 31 January 2027. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
