To be a highly productive, ambitious and collaborative member of the “Crossing Boundaries: Domain Wall Continuity in Ferroic Ceramics” research project.

The post holder will investigate the fundamental mechanisms governing domain wall (DW) continuity across grain boundaries in ferroic ceramics and its impact on functional properties.

The role will focus on designing and delivering advanced experimental research using state-of-the-art microscopy and correlative techniques to study domain wall–grain boundary (DW–GB) interactions across multiple ferroic systems.

The post provides an opportunity to develop expertise in advanced electron microscopy, 3D characterisation, and functional measurements, while contributing to fundamental materials science questions with relevance to next-generation electronic and energy technologies.

The post holder will contribute to independent research, supervision, planning, collaborations, and outreach. The post holder will benefit from:

  • Experience in advanced in-situ microscopy techniques
