About the Role
Informal Queries
This is a high-profile opportunity to lead and shape Warwick Business School’s global positioning through rankings, accreditation, and reputation. You’ll lead this newly formed unit, with three direct reports and a wider team of seven, and take strategic ownership of the School’s performance across the full portfolio of global rankings—undergraduate, Masters, MBA, and Executive Education—ensuring a coherent, data-driven approach that strengthens WBS’s competitive standing.
Alongside this, you’ll work closely with the central University, dedicating time each week to align institutional strategy and lead engagement with senior stakeholders across the rankings landscape.
You’ll operate at the intersection of insight and influence—driving a clear, evidence-based strategy, overseeing rankings submissions, and leading initiatives that enhance the School’s external profile.
The role brings significant visibility, requiring you to engage confidently with internal leaders and external bodies, while shaping how WBS responds to evolving methodologies and market expectations.
You’ll ensure alignment of the School’s Triple-Crown accreditation portfolio with its rankings work, ensuring fulfilment with global standards and delivering high-quality submissions and successful reaccreditation outcomes.
Beyond this, you’ll support a broader set of strategic priorities across the School—including EDI and Athena Swan, sustainability, and AI—providing leadership, guidance, and direction to colleagues driving these agendas.
About You
You’ll be a confident and credible individual, comfortable working at senior levels and able to build trust quickly across a wide range of stakeholders.
You’ll bring sound judgement, intellectual curiosity and a sharp eye for what drives performance, using evidence and insight to shape direction and challenge constructively where needed.
You’ll be adept at turning complexity into clarity—making sense of evolving methodologies and translating them into practical action—while remaining outward-looking, aware of the wider sector, and proactive in strengthening the School’s external profile.
You’ll be a strong and supportive team leader, known for developing others and creating a culture where people feel empowered to take ownership and deliver at their best.
You’ll set clear expectations, provide thoughtful guidance, and foster collaboration across teams to achieve shared goals.
You’ll balance a strategic mindset with attention to detail, staying close enough to the work to ensure quality while giving your team the space to thrive.
You’ll also bring a commitment to continuous improvement—always looking for smarter, more effective ways of working and helping those around you to do the same.
