This is an opportunity to play a central role in delivering Sheffield’s Place Expansion programme, following a major investment by Sport England to strengthen the city’s approach to physical activity, health and wellbeing.
Working through the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine (NCSEM) Sheffield Partnership, you will lead the communications and engagement activities, helping partners develop a clearer, more coordinated and more consistent approach to public and partner-facing activity.
The role will involve developing a communications and engagement strategy for the programme, undertaking discovery and consultation work, mapping existing campaigns and civic opportunities, and identifying where activity can be better aligned or amplified.
You will support the development of shared messages, campaign materials, partner toolkits, digital content, case studies and media assets, as well as contributing to the development of the programme’s website and shared digital platforms.
This role will suit a creative, organised and delivery-focused communications and engagement professional who can work across a complex partnership, bring structure to a broad brief, and turn programme activity into clear, practical and engaging communications.
It is a rewarding opportunity to help Sheffield build a stronger shared narrative around physical activity, making the work of partners more visible, connected and accessible to the communities they serve.
We offer a diverse range of benefits and opportunities to pursue a rewarding and fulfilling career in a supportive environment.
You will be contractually enrolled into the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)
one of the largest and most generous defined benefit pension schemes in the country.
If you are, or have been, a recent member of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) directly prior to joining us, you can choose to opt out of the LGPS and remain in the USS. Please contact the Pensions team to discuss options available.
