This is an opportunity to play a central role in delivering Sheffield’s Place Expansion programme, following a major investment by Sport England to strengthen the city’s approach to physical activity, health and wellbeing.
Working through the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine (NCSEM) Sheffield Partnership, you will provide the programme management and coordination needed to keep delivery across multiple partners and work packages clear, connected and on track. This will include maintaining programme plans, milestone trackers, action logs, risk and issue logs, reporting schedules and governance documentation.
You will work closely with the NCSEM Director, work package leads, delivery partners, Sport England Relationship Managers and University colleagues across administration, finance, legal and governance. You will support clear communication, timely reporting, effective escalation and follow-through on key actions and decisions.
This is a relationship-focused programme management role in a complex partnership environment. You will need to bring structure, clarity and pace while working collaboratively across organisations with different responsibilities and priorities.
You will also help ensure that evidence, insight and learning are connected into programme delivery, so that the programme remains responsive and able to adapt as it develops.
The role will suit a confident and highly organised programme manager who can work across complex partnerships, manage competing priorities, support effective governance and help partners turn shared ambition into practical action for Sheffield’s communities.
We offer a diverse range of benefits and opportunities to pursue a rewarding and fulfilling career in a supportive environment.
You will be contractually enrolled into the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)
one of the largest and most generous defined benefit pension schemes in the country.
If you are, or have been, a recent member of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) directly prior to joining us, you can choose to opt out of the LGPS and remain in the USS. Please contact the Pensions team to discuss options available.
