Annual Leave: 35 days pro rata plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield with some opportunities for hybrid working

Main duties and responsibilities

The post holder will take a lead role in the academic strand of the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology programme and in strategically developing the approach to the selection of trainee clinical psychologists within the programme. A member of the Department of Psychology, Sport and Geography, the post holder will achieve standards of excellence in teaching, learning, and research in psychology with a focus on the academic curriculum and it’s delivery.

The postholder will lead on key areas of the organisation and delivery of the academic curriculum, including timetable coordination, visiting lecturer recruitment, monitoring of teaching feedback, module organising, module peer review, teaching and facilitating problem-based learning small groups, monitoring student attendance, and study needs agreements. They will also take a strategic leadership role and work closely with the admissions tutor on approaches to the selection of trainee clinical psychologists, further developing our contextual recruitment process, ensuring fair access to training across the protected characteristics and evaluate the impact of this.

Skills and experience required

The postholder will have substantial proven post-qualification clinical and supervision experience as well as experience of teaching and training, trainee selection and publishing research. You will have experience of working in a leadership or managerial role and be able to demonstrate a committed approach to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications required

You will be educated with a degree in psychology, or an equivalent qualification, which confers eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartering (GBC) of the BPS, and a postgraduate masters level qualification or equivalent level of training in Clinical Psychology.

You will be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council as a Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical) and be eligible for Chartered Clinical Psychologist status with the BPS.
