Post summary

The purpose of this post is to work as part of the Clinical Skills team in the Education Division of the School of Medicine. The post is primarily based in the Trinity Centre for Health Sciences, Tallaght Hospital, but the postholder will also be required to work across other School of Medicine sites as required (e.g. St James’s Hospital, Naas General Hospital, Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute).

This role is part of the Clinical Skills team and supports the delivery of high-quality practical and simulation-based teaching for healthcare students. The role reports to the Clinical Skills Lead / Programme Manager and works as part of a team responsible for ensuring the effective day-to-day operation of the clinical skills environment. The post holder will support the preparation and delivery of clinical teaching sessions, maintain equipment and learning resources, and provide a professional, efficient and welcoming service to students, academic staff and visitors. The role holder will often be the first point of contact for students and staff within the clinical skills area and will contribute to creating a safe, organised and supportive learning environment.

Post status: Specific Purpose Contract

The specific purpose of this post is to fill this vacancy on a temporary basis pending the return of the postholder from a period of secondment. Employment is not offered on an indefinite duration basis as the original postholder is expected to return.  If the postholder does not return to work the post will be filled through open competition.

Salary: Appointment will be made on the Nurse Tutor Salary Scale €73,062 -€81,989 or Lecturer/Registrar Salary Scale €69,580 -€81,937 as appropriate at a point in line with Government Pay Policy.
