We are looking to appoint a Paediatric Neuromuscular Clinical Research Fellow to join the Specialised Translational Research Oxford Neuromuscular Group (STRONG).

About the role and you

The research group is involved in several innovative trials in neuromuscular disorders and Angelman syndrome and leading ambitious programs in digital biomarker discovery and genetic screening of neonates.

The chosen candidate will actively contribute to clinical research and participate in clinical trials as a key co-investigator. This post primarily provides experience in clinical research in a multi-disciplinary academic environment, as well as the opportunity to take part in peer-reviewed publications and the opportunity to join neuromuscular clinics under the supervision of highly specialised consultants.

For candidates interested in research beyond the current post, there may be opportunities available to develop a programme towards a higher degree (PhD) in an associated topic.

To apply for this role, it is essential that you have GMC full registration, or an evidenced high chance of achieving this by September 2026, and MRCP, MRCPCH, or equivalent. You should have the ability to undertake direct original clinical research in the neurosciences, and evidence leadership, organisational, interpersonal, teamworking, and IT skills.

Lastly, evidence of interest in a neurologically-associated specialty (adult or paediatric), experience of working with clinical studies, and knowledge and experience of working in the NHS would be desirable.

This role meets the criteria for a UK Skilled Worker visa.
