About the role
We invite applications for a Research Fellow to join an interdisciplinary Leverhulme project, ‘Counternarratives of West African Artists’ migration to Britain, 1930-1968’, examining the hidden histories of West African visual artists, with a focus on painters and sculptors, who travelled to or migrated to Britain between 1930 and 1968.
About you
The post has been designed for an outstanding research fellow in the field of Anthropology, History, Migration Studies, African Studies or a related discipline. The successful candidate will play a central role in delivering the project’s research objectives. The project requires a highly motivated research fellow, with excellent communication skills who is able to produce research at the highest quality and develop the project’s research profile. Working closely with Professor Pamela Kea, the PI, the Research Fellow will undertake the majority of archival research and oral history interviews in Britain and West Africa.
