Founded in 1882, The Royal College of Music (RCM) is a world leading music conservatoire with a prestigious history and contemporary outlook. Our excellence was recognised by the 2026 QS World University Rankings, in which we were ranked as the No. 1 institution in the UK and Europe, and second globally, for both Music and Performing Arts. The College has held global first and second positions in Performing Arts for five successive years, while Music is a new subject introduced to the rankings in 2024.
We are seeking a talented and proactive AV and Systems Manager to join our Creative Performance Technologies team. This is a key role supporting the delivery of high-quality audio-visual services across teaching spaces, performance venues, and specialist recording studios. You will be responsible for maintaining and developing a wide range of AV systems, including lecture capture, broadcast and livestreaming technology, studio equipment, and Mac-based music production labs.
Working collaboratively with IT, Digital Learning, and production teams, you will provide technical expertise, support system design and upgrades, and lead small to medium AV installation projects.
A proportion of the role will involve hands-on studio work, including recording sessions and supporting live broadcasts. You will also contribute to helpdesk support, asset management, equipment lifecycle planning, and user training for staff and students.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in AV or broadcast engineering, with strong knowledge of recording, filming, and streaming technologies. You’ll be confident working with Mac systems, networks, and specialist audio/video software, and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
