Rose Bruford College is a leading small specialist higher education institution. We are one of the UK’s largest performance colleges, with over 1,000 students undertaking undergraduate and postgraduate study in performance, design, technical arts and management.
Building on 75 years of creative achievement, Rose Bruford College unites diverse talent through exceptional education in storytelling. Our vibrant community blends tradition with bold innovation, nurturing unique artistic voices that transform stages and screens worldwide
The College is seeking to appoint an inspiring Lecturer or Senior Lecturer leader to join the teaching team of the new and innovative BA (hons) International Acting Practices. BA (hons) International Acting Practices is an intensive training programme designed to educate practitioner-artists with skills in acting, performing, directing, and theatre-making. At the core of this programme is practice research and an understanding of training cultures outside of the European tradition. This is an exciting opportunity to join this new programme and develop a progressive actor/performer training that sits within a thriving undergraduate acting culture.
With the development of this ground-breaking programme, we are looking to expand our practices and knowledges of acting and performance from outside of the European tradition. We are actively seeking practitioners who specialise in methodologies from the Global Majority and/or Global South, and/or have strong networks and reach in these areas.
You will have knowledge of specific acting and performance approaches, arising from professional and/or scholarly activity, and be able to translate this into a conservatoire teaching setting. You will have, or be willing to cultivate, a network of other professionals who might usefully contribute to the programme.
Appointment at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer will be made in relation to the stated Job Descriptions and Person Specifications. Please indicate on your application which role you are applying for.
Rose Bruford College is committed to inclusive, innovative and progressive practice.
We offer 35 days’ holiday per annum plus Bank Holidays. For further information on the essential requirements for the role please obtain the job description and person specification available from https://bruford.jobs.people-first.com/jobs/search
