About the Role

As a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Exercise Physiology, you will contribute to teaching, research, and academic development within the Department of Sport and Physical Activity. You will deliver high-quality, research-led teaching across Sport and Exercise Science programmes, supervise undergraduate dissertations, and, where appropriate, support postgraduate research students.

You will contribute to core modules aligned to your expertise, including Exercise Physiology, Exercise and Health, Clinical Exercise Physiology, and Applied Practice. Through teaching, supervision, and personal tutoring, you will support students to achieve their academic potential and progress into employment or further study.

You will also contribute to the Department’s research activity, supporting outputs for the next Research Excellence Framework (REF). This includes enhancing research quality, impact, and knowledge exchange in line with departmental priorities.

Additionally, you will engage in wider academic activities such as curriculum development, student recruitment, and delivering an excellent student experience, supported by outstanding facilities at the Ormskirk campus.

About You

You will be an enthusiastic, student-focused academic with strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to high-quality teaching and learning. You will understand the professional competencies defined by the Chartered Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (CASES) and demonstrate a passion for evidence-based practice.

You will have an established or developing research profile in Exercise Physiology and experience teaching at undergraduate level (and ideally postgraduate). You will be committed to developing your research, professional practice, and contributing to departmental goals.
