City St George’s is seeking an outstanding clinician-educator to take on the role of Core Specialty Lead in Medicine for the penultimate year of the MBBS programme.
This is a key academic leadership role within the clinical practice phase of the curriculum, providing specialty-level oversight of placement-based learning. The role has been developed to strengthen academic leadership across clinical placements, enhance consistency of student experience across partner NHS sites, and support high-quality delivery aligned with GMC Outcomes for Graduates.
You will work closely with the MBBS Senior Leadership Team and Quality Team, as well as placement leads across partner organisations, to ensure effective coordination, delivery, and continuous improvement of Medicine placements within penultimate year. The role also reflects the increasing importance of the virtual learning environment and the need for robust academic oversight of placement content and delivery across diverse clinical settings.
