About the role:

The Lancet Countdown: tracking progress on health and climate change, is an independent, international research collaboration, that works to track the evolving links between health and climate change globally, regionally, and nationally, in partnership with The Lancet and the World Health Organization. Its aim is to inform a robust response to climate change that protects and promotes human health

What you would be doing:

We are seeking a 2 x Research Associates to work on the identification, development, and evaluation of indicators and broader research pertaining to the Working Group on Mitigation (WG3). The ideal candidates are analytical, organized, and collaborative with expert knowledge related to the subject matter of the Working Group.

What we are looking for:

  • PhD in a field related to public health, climate change, climate change mitigation, or equivalent through other research or work experience
  • Knowledge of climate change mitigation actions across one or more sectors (e.g. energy sector, buildings, transport, industrial production, or agriculture) and their impacts on drivers of health experiences and health outcomes.
  • Experience of processing, integrating and analysing large data sets
  • Experience of using advanced GIS and geospatial and database analysis to evaluate large scale sector activities and population health outcomes

Please note that this is a PhD level role but candidates who have not yet been officially awarded will be appointed as a Research Assistant.

This is a full-time, fixed term post until 30 September 2029.
