Birkbeck, University of London, has an excellent opportunity for a Demonstrator to join the teaching team, and support the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences this Autumn 2026.

You will have knowledge of and experience of one of the required modules areas listed below and be qualified to the corresponding level of the award as required to teach (or demonstrate equivalent professional/industry level experience).

  • Data Analytics using R, Data and Knowledge Management, Data Modelling and Analysis, Data Science Techniques and Applications, Data Skills, Data Structures and Algorithms, Database Management, Demystifying Computing with Python,
  • Fundamentals of Computing, Further Machine Learning and Analytics,
  • Information Security, Internet and Web Technologies, Introduction to Computer Systems, Introduction to Data Analytics using R, Introduction to Programming,
  • Mathematics for Computing, Mobile Computing,
  • Natural Language Processing and Information Retrieval, Neural Networks and Deep Learning,
  • Object Oriented Programming,

Salary:
Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on length of continuous service with the College (starting rate £24.55 per hour inclusive of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay) for contact hours worked. This hourly rate is based on the starting point of Grade 6, which covers preparation, teaching, administration, and other examining duties in connection with the course.

Contract:
Fixed-term, part-time working 1-4pm or 6-9pm Mon-Fri contract, October to December 2026. Please submit a CV for consideration. Closing date: Sunday, 28 June, interview date: Tuesday, 7 July 2026.
