Your future is here
A place to inspire
In a teaching role at Nottingham College you will play a vital part in helping thousands of people reach their potential. We are Nottingham’s College and together, we make a positive difference to our learners, to our communities and to each other. We’re building better futures, for others and for ourselves. Our teachers bring experience, flair, industry connections, passion and care to their roles and in return we invest in them. Here, you have the freedom to work in a way that suits you, the support to thrive and the opportunity to shape your career.
Who we're looking for
Due to the continued success and growth of our thriving 14–16 provision at High Pavement, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join a highly successful and expanding team dedicated to supporting young people to develop the skills, confidence, and resilience they need to succeed.
This is an excellent time to join a growing and ambitious provision that is making a genuine difference to the lives of young people across Nottingham. As student numbers continue to increase, reflecting the positive impact of our work and the outcomes achieved by our learners, we are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to become part of our supportive and forward-thinking team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering AQA Unit Awards and personal development programmes that help students build essential personal, social, and employability skills. Through engaging and meaningful learning experiences, you will support students to recognise their strengths, develop confidence and independence, and make informed decisions about their future pathways into further education, training, or employment.
We are seeking an individual who is passionate about improving the life chances of young people and has a proven ability to engage, motivate, and inspire learners to achieve their potential. You will understand the importance of developing the whole student, creating opportunities for young people to grow personally as well as academically, and supporting them to overcome barriers to success.
You will be joining a department that places a strong emphasis on collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. We are proud of our positive staffroom culture, where colleagues are encouraged to share ideas, develop new approaches, and engage in high-quality Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Whether you are an experienced practitioner or looking to further develop your expertise, you will find a welcoming and supportive environment where your professional growth is valued and actively encouraged.
The role requires a flexible, proactive, and student-centred approach, alongside excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with young people. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the college to ensure every learner receives the support, guidance, and opportunities they need to progress and succeed.
Applications will be shortlisted against the essential and desirable criteria outlined in the person specification. Please refer carefully to the attached Role Profile and ensure your application demonstrates how you meet these requirements, as they form an integral part of the selection process.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Chris Allright, Assistant Head of 14–18, via email at chris.allright@nottinghamcollege.ac.uk.
