The role
University of the Arts London (UAL) is one of the world’s leading creative universities. As we continue to grow our global reach, we are looking to appoint a Student Recruitment Officer (International) to lead on international student recruitment and strengthen UAL’s presence in key markets.
This role will sit within the International Student Recruitment team, assuming responsibility for delivering impactful recruitment plans in key markets whilst also contributing to the wider team’s recruitment operations. You will hold regional responsibility for recruitment activity across designated markets, handle associated budgets and ensure efficient use of resources to achieve recruitment objectives.
You will work closely with the Student Recruitment Manager (International) and colleagues in the marketing and recruitment teams to produce co-ordinated, data-driven plans for allocated markets, bringing together the University’s activity across the full range of marketing channels. You will work with teams across the department to support continuous improvements in the student journey, from enquiry to enrolment, while ensuring compliance with UAL policy.
Acting as an ambassador for the University, you will draw on your excellent interpersonal skills to develop strong working relationships, communicate clearly across diverse audiences and influence both internal and external stakeholders. The role will include international travel, representing UAL at overseas events and working closely with our dedicated network of recruitment agents.
About you
You will bring experience in higher education student recruitment and an understanding of the global student market, ideally with some knowledge of the creative arts context.
You will have experience of managing market recruitment plans, to deliver against recruitment objectives. A demonstrable understanding of admissions processes, visa requirements and the broader operational frameworks that support international recruitment is essential.
The ability to evaluate success and improve outcomes while contributing to broader strategic objectives is key. You will also have experience of working with recruitment agents, or other external networks, alongside a strong appreciation of the importance of a positive student journey.
You will also bring strong organisational and communication skills, as well as proven experience working both independently and within a team.
The appointed candidate is expected to initially look after the MENAT region (Middle East, North Africa and Turkiye).
We are committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all students, staff and visitors. As this role requires you to work with children, young people and/or vulnerable adults, a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check is required.
