We are looking for an experienced and committed graphic design educator to teach, assess and enhance postgraduate student learning in this fully online Graphic Design course.
We are currently recruiting to two posts, one 0.6 (3 days per week) and one 0.3 (1.5 days per week). Please specify in your application if you would like to apply to one (and which one) or both of these posts.
Our teaching and learning model is highly flexible and therefore predominantly asynchronous. As a lecturer in this model, you will facilitate meaningful engagement with pre-prepared learning materials, encourage active participation in group tasks and foster a supportive and collaborative online community through your presence in the virtual learning environment. You will contribute relevant, current resources that complement the core curriculum and support students to research, critique, and create individual responses to projects. You will host live sessions, support discussion forums, respond to student queries, and support students to deepen understanding and apply critical thinking. You will be responsible for assessment, moderation and feedback, and will work with the course leader and Student Success colleagues to monitor and support students as they progress through the course.
Working closely with the course leader and wider course team you will contribute to quality monitoring and continuous course enhancement through reflection, feedback, planned course refresh cycles and engagement in academic practice and professional development.
About you
You are a passionate, confident educator with broad knowledge of Graphic Design and experience of teaching at postgraduate level. You are confident facilitating discussions, delivering live online teaching, and building an inclusive, engaging learning community that supports diverse learners.
Your excellent communication skills enable you to work well with other staff and to provide your students with clear guidance and constructive, timely feedback. You are comfortable using digital learning platforms, messaging tools and video conferencing to engage students and build community.
Strong subject expertise means that your teaching draws on research and professional practice. You are confident to teach theory and practice and have knowledge of production methods including emerging and digital technologies. With preparation, you are able to teach any unit across the course from introduction to final masters’ projects.
You are an experienced assessor, able to provide constructive feedback, support quality assurance processes and uphold academic standards.
You are looking for a permanent role in a growing course team where you can teach, and actively contribute to course development, quality assurance, and communities of practice in online education.
