Main duties and responsibilities
Working closely with colleagues from the Academic Quality team, Academic Schools and External Institutions, this role provides you with an exciting opportunity to play a key part supporting the management team in the administration of the department by providing a high standard of customer service and ensuring that the agreed customer service standards are always adhered to. You will be dealing effectively with all customer enquiries and information requests through multiple contact methods. Contact methods will include face-to-face, telephone, IT systems (e.g. email, SMS, Web) and other formats as appropriate. You will be working as part of a front-line team dealing with customer enquiries and information requests and will acquire an understanding of the University’s Policies and Regulations relevant to the area of work. You will acquire good working knowledge relating to the administration of the departments, ensuring that effective administrative procedures are practiced and maintained.
Skills and experience required
You will already have proven administrative experience and good IT skills, including the use of MS Office and databases with numeracy and literary skills. You need to be able to demonstrate a good understanding of customer care, including a polite, helpful and confident telephone manner. You will need to be able to collect, process and present data with a methodical approach and attention to detail. The ability to work to tight deadlines, accurately and under pressure, alongside conflicting priorities is essential for this role.
Qualifications required
You will be educated with a minimum of five GCSEs or equivalents, including Mathematics and English at grade C/4 or above, or proven professional work experience.
