About us

Student Recruitment and Admissions (SRA) plays a central role in supporting UCL’s mission as London’s Global University. Our Graduate Admissions team manages applications to a diverse portfolio of postgraduate taught, research and affiliate programmes, supporting applicants from across the world through every stage of the admissions journey.

We are committed to delivering a high-quality, responsive and inclusive admissions service that reflects UCL’s values and ambition. Working collaboratively with academic colleagues and professional services teams, we support fair and transparent admissions processes while contributing to an outstanding applicant experience.

About the role

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Admissions Officer on a part-time (0.4 FTE/ 14.6 hours per week) job-share basis within UCL’s central postgraduate admissions team. The team is responsible for the administration and management of applications to postgraduate taught and research programmes across the university, supporting applicants through a complex and high-volume admissions process.

The role will involve responsibility for key aspects of postgraduate admissions administration, alongside the shared management of a team of admissions staff. You'll work closely with academic colleagues to agree and implement admissions selection criteria, assess applications and make decisions in line with agreed policies and procedures. The role also includes reviewing complex fee status assessments and preparing documentation to support applicants requiring sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration points-based immigration system.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced admissions professional to contribute to a collaborative, service-focused team within a global higher education environment.

Please note, this role is initially offered on a 12-month fixed-term basis to start from 5th October 2026. The role is offered on a hybrid working basis with a minimum onsite criteria of 1-day per week (subject to change) in our Kings Cross office.

About you

You will have experience of student admissions within a higher education setting, together with a strong understanding of the complexities and pace of the applicant journey. You will be confident working within a high-volume, customer-focused environment and able to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

You will bring excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across a complex organisation. You will be comfortable interpreting and applying policies and procedures, handling sensitive or complex cases with professionalism and sound judgement.

The successful candidate will be a collaborative and adaptable team member who is committed to delivering a responsive, inclusive and high-quality service. Experience of supporting or managing staff, working with student records systems and contributing to process improvement activity would be advantageous.
