The Faculty of Science and Engineering combines research excellence with a strong commitment to growth, innovation and diversity in its educational activities. About You
You will be an experienced and motivated operations professional, educated to degree level or with equivalent experience, who thrives in a complex organisational environment. You bring substantial administrative expertise and a proven ability to lead and support teams delivering high-quality financial and HR services. Your strong working knowledge of systems such as Agresso and Oleeo enables you to guide colleagues, resolve complex queries, and ensure compliant, efficient processes. Skilled in reviewing workflows and implementing improvements, you are proactive, solution-focused, and confident managing competing priorities under pressure. With excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, you build effective working relationships, recognise when to escalate issues, and work collaboratively to maintain smooth operational support.
About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role ensures the efficient and effective delivery of operations services to the Schools within the Faculty. This involves providing expert guidance and oversight for financial and HR processes, managing complex queries, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. A key aspect is leading a team of Operations Administrators responsible for day-to-day finance and HR tasks, enabling a smooth operational environment within the Faculty and Schools. The post holder will liaise with central Finance and HR teams to ensure correct adherence to processes and appropriate escalation of complex issues. This is a permanent, part-time role for 14 h/w and will operate as a job share. Please note that Queen Mary is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
