Reporting to the Centre Director, the postholder will be a member of the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies with responsibility for carrying out research into socio-legal perspectives on digital developments.

The post holder will prepare a report into the ways in which socio-legal analysis and research methods can be developed and refined as AI shapes research and teaching and present the research findings in conferences and public meetings; they will co-convene an international conference on a theme related to socio-legal perspectives on digital developments; they will act as a source of information and advice to members of the CSLS on the topics of the research, prepare applications for externally funded research projects, and lay the ground for networks and collaborations to advance further research in the area.

Candidates should  hold, or be close to completion of, a PhD/DPhil in Law, Socio-legal studies, or a relevant social science discipline, together with an excellent grasp of the field of socio-legal studies; ability to manage own academic research and contribute ideas for new research projects and research income generation and associated activities; excellent communication skills, including the ability to write for publication, and present research proposals and results.

This post is full time and fixed term for 1 year. The post holder will be based at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies, Manor Road Building, OX1 3UQ, and will be required to be in the office for a minimum of 3 days a week during term time.
