Are you an experienced resourceful, registered healthcare practitioner with clinical experience of acutely ill patients committed to workforce development to high standards? Are you passionate about delivering outstanding teaching and scholarship and an exceptional student and registrant experience? Are you able to use your experience and skills to bring out the best in others and support their development? Are you looking to develop yourself?
We are seeking a highly motivated individual committed to further develop their skills in teaching and scholarship with opportunities to develop as a leader. As part of an established small team led by an experienced NMC-registrant, you will be involved in organising and running workshops and assessments that focus on professional development of dental team students, as well as junior through to senior healthcare professionals drawn from a wide range of settings. The clinical development need is informed by good understanding of recorded clinical events in the dental setting and the need to promote safety for all.
Hands-on simulation training is mostly delivered in a dedicated suite of rooms in the School of Dentistry that include a mock dental surgery with a sophisticated SimMan patient simulator run from a separate control room. Audio-visual equipment in the surgery feeds to a separate break-out room. There is close partnership working with Leeds Dental Institute located on the floor below, which is part of Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, to ensure that there is translation to the workplace and events in the clinical areas inform development of the training.
You will be an enthusiastic person with excellent communication skills with experience of working both independently and within a small team. There will be a need to be forward looking and flexible to meet the needs of those being trained and of the team. You will have current professional registration and a relevant healthcare qualification. Experience in education or training of adults will be advantageous.
