Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Fixed-Term/Contract
Placed On: 11th June 2026

About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional professional to spearhead the University's operational delivery, project management, and governance of the pioneering Total Body Positron Emission Tomography (TB-PET) scanner facility. Situated at the heart of the Cambridge Biomedical Campus within Addenbrooke's Hospital, this position presents a rare opportunity to manage a cornerstone component of the ANGLIA TB-PET network, funded via the MRC National PET Imaging Platform (NPIP), a major UKRI investment into next-generation molecular imaging.

The role provides a crucial cross-institutional interface, bridging the University of Cambridge (UoC), with that of the Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH). The successful candidate will navigate the complexities of both the university research ecosystem and the clinical NHS environment, ensuring a seamless translation of cutting-edge technology into patient and research benefits.

Scheduled for installation in November 2026, the TB-PET scanner represents the pinnacle of medical imaging technology, offering ultra-high sensitivity and full-body kinetic modelling capabilities far surpassing conventional scanners.

This role will be integrated with the Wolfson Brain Imaging Centre (WBIC), giving you oversight of an operational rollout that will directly advance clinical patient care across partner organisations whilst also driving breakthrough discoveries in neuroscience, oncology and other medical disciplines. Full details of the role can be found in the enclosed job description.

About you

You will hold a degree-level education or equivalent vocational qualification, backed by a proven track record in complex project management or contract negotiation. Prior  experience navigating PET, general radiography operations, or technical facilities is highly desirable. Crucially, you possess the professional rigor to handle demanding stakeholders alongside the collaborative warmth required to harmonise multi-disciplinary teams across university and NHS boundaries.

Informal enquiries about the position are welcomed and should be submitted by email to: Luigi Aloj, Director of the WBIC, or Linda Morgan, WBIC Business Manager using the contact details below.
